Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (retired) has described the death of the Ogun State Amotekun Corps Commander, CP David Akinremi, as shocking and unfortunate.
In a condolence message on Tuesday, to the Ogun State Government and family of the late Amotekun commander, Adewinmbi said the late Akinremi would be greatly missed.
“The Osun State Amotekun Corps Commander and the entire officers and men of the Osun Amotekun Corps wishes to commiserate with the Akinremi family, the Government and good people of Ogun State on the demise and passage unto glory of CP David Akinremi.
“The late Akinremi is someone who had always been passionate about the security of lives and properties of his state and he would be greatly missed by all.” he said
Adewinmbi, however, prayed for the repose of the deceased and asked God to “grant his family, the Government, Ogun State Amotekun Management, and good people of Ogun State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Akinremi, a retired Commissioner of Police, died on Monday evening.
Akinremi, who was appointed in 2021 by Governor Dapo Abiodun as the pioneer Commander of the Ogun Amotekun Corps, was said to have been nursing an undisclosed ailment for quite some time until his death on Monday
