Four persons were confirmed dead on Friday in a lone accident involving a Toyota Camry car at Area J3 , Ijebu East local government area on the Sagamu-Benin expressway.
Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi , the Spokesperson, Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta .
Akinbiyi explained that the accident occured at 11:30am and was caused by tyre burst which led to loss of control.
He said that the vehicle with registration number BDG 184 FY veered off the road into a ditch.
The TRACE spokesperson noted that but officers of the command and FRSC personnel were involved in the rescue operations
“A total of four persons , three men and one woman were involved and they all died from the lone crash.
” The suspected cause of the lone crash was tyre burst which led to loss of control and the vehicle veered off into a ditch,” she said.
Akinbiyi explained that the deceased were deposited at the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital morgue by operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
He commiserated with the families of the deceased, calling on motorists to desists from the use of “Tokunbo” tyres.
