Three persons suspected to be students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago Iwoye has reportedly died in a lone accident involving a commercial Opel Samira on Ilisan-Ago Iwoye road .
SP Omolola Odutola, the Spokesperson, Ogun Police Command, confirmed the incident in a statement in Abeokuta on Saturday.
Odutola explained that the accident occurred at 3:30p.m on Friday.
She noted that the car marked AAA-126 HE was driven by one Adekunle Adebiyi, residing at 5, Sunmibare street, Awa Ijebu.
She stated that the accident was caused by speeding and lost of control on the part of the driver which made the vehicle to flip into the bush.
” A male passenger, whose identity has not yet been confirmed but is believed to be a student from OOU, died at the scene.
” His body has been taken to the General Hospital Ijebu Ode mortuary.
“Two female students from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU)—Dada Oluwanifesimi, 18, and Miracle Daniel, 19, were rushed to Love and Care Hospital but unfortunately died while receiving treatment.
” The vehicle has been recovered and taken to the station,” she said.
The police spokesperson explained that further update would be communicated.
She urged motorists to always drive safely and obey traffic rules and regulations especially during the festive season.
