2023: Prof. Bamgbose declares intention for Ogun governorship seat


Prof. David Bamgbose has declared his intention to contest for the governorship seat in Ogun state under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 general elections.

Bamgbose declared his intention on Thursday in Abeokuta amidst funfair by supporters who trooped in from the three senatorial districts of the state.

Speaking to his supporters during the declaration, the governorship aspirant noted that massive development in education , adequate security of lives and property would be paramount in his administration.

He said that the present government had failed in the area of security and welfare of citizens which remained a fundamental responsibility as enshrined in the constitution.

“We need a government that will provide conducive and enabling environment to unleash enormous potential.

” We have been doing this in our entrepreneural education and follow up programme, we make education affordable and intend to translate it into higher dimension in government.

“School fees in our state owned higher institutions will be less than N50,000 per session,” he said.

The governorship aspirant noted that PDP remains the only party and the political platform that would make his aspirations work .

“In the current democratic experience since 1999, I can boldly assert that the eight years of PDP government is the golden years of the current 23 years in focus,” he said.

He called on the National Working Committee of the PDP to urgently look into Ogun state matter, saying that the NWC should provide a level playing field for all aspirants of the party.

Bamgbose, an administrator, efucationst, scholar, clergy and a farmer promised to unseat Gov. Dapo Abiodun in the 2023 governorship elections.
