Teachers Are Architect Of Development, Growth In Any Nation –NANS

As the world celebrates International Teachers Day, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Friday , said that teachers played a key role in the development and growth of any nation.
NANS made this known in a statement signed by its National Public Relations Officer, Azeez Adeyemi, and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Friday.
Adeyemi noted that it was important to continually appreciate the effort of teachers, saying that the profession remained the mother of all professions.
He explained that the day was to celebrates teachers across the world but rather , here in Nigeria , it was a day of sober reflections for teachers across the country.
“The national leadership of NANS felicitates with teachers across the country on the celebration of the international teachers day.
“Nigerian students  are aware of the ill treatments been meted on teachers by government at all levels.
” Ranging from under funding of education, poor or half pay of salaries, lack of conducive and enabling classrooms for teachers to teach, and many other deplorable conditions, ” he said.
He urged the government to yield to the yearnings of the teachers and make them more comfortable.
Adeyemi also called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to as a matter of urgency prevail on Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun , to recall the three leaders of N.U.T in the state , Com Ilekoya Dare, Com Balogun St Nolla and Com Atiku Eniola and the state NLC chairman, com.  Akeem Ambali, sacked as a result of activities of the teachers day, held 2years ago,(2016) in Abeokuta.
“No doubt,hundreds of persons have suffered the sack of these Four Labour Leaders, because they all have persons that directly depends on them as sole hopes of livelihood.
“We hereby passionately appeal to president Muhammadu Buhari to re-awaken the hopes and comfortability of these labour leaders and there depending subjects,by doing all possible as a father to prevail on the Governor of Ogun State to recall them to the service,with full payment of salaries arrears from 2016 to date.
“We commend governors that have paid up to date salaries,arrears and deductions of teachers  and we also charge those still owing deductions,arrears and salaries to please pay urgently.
“NANS condemned this act in totality,and sees it a deliberate robbery of there hard-earned sweats.
” NANS appreciates all teachers for their endurance and comportment so far, we charged them to remain resolute as 2019 general elections,the time to reposition our destiny approaches,” he said.
