OSUN GUBER: PDP has more votes but INEC declares exercise inconclusive

The final results emanating from the Osun State Governorship election indicates that Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled a total 254,699, while his closest challenger, Isiaka Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had 254,345 votes.

Even at that, the election management body, INEC has declared that the election was inconclusive.

INEC’s Returning Officer in the state, Joseph Afuwape said that since the difference between the two leading parties was just 353 votes but the number of cancelled votes was 3,5498, no winner had emerged.

“Unfortunately, as the Returning Officer, it is not possible to declare any party as winner,” Afuwape said.
