BREAKING: Immigration to Begin Issuance of International Passport in Sagamu
Nigeria Immigration Service will soon begin the issuance of International Passport from Sagamu office.
This hint was dropped by the Assistant Comptroller General of the service, Otunba Ajibola Oluwatobi Bayero and the current comptroller of Immigration Service, Ogun state command, Mohammed Sanni Harande When they led a special delegation of the Comptroller-General to the palace of Akarigbo of Remo, Sagamu , Ogun state recently.
Bayero said the idea of opening the Sagamu office was conceived by the Governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and approved by the Comptroller-General of the sevice, Alhaji Mohammed Babandede because of his conviction that it would help the service to serve the need and desire of many more Nigerians to possess the highly valued international instrument.
The immigration team were in the palace of Akarigbo to select the appropriate localion and the structure for the office. The team visited some locations provided by the Sagamu local government and Akarigbo in council whose members were ecstatic and enthusiastic in hosting the Immigration Service in the community and eagerly waiting to see the commencement of the issuance of the international passport bearing Sagamu as the issuing centre.
Their enthusiasm, according to our check, is borne out of their conviction that it would positively add to the overall development of the entire Remo Kingdom and help to launch the people and town at world map since the Nigerian International passport is being used globally
Speaking at the meeting, Otunba Michael Oyedele, Olotu Omoba stated that they were prepared to accommodate the officers and men of the immigration services because according to him the idea of opening an office in sagamu is a welcome development on the grounds that it would no doubt help serve the desire of Nigerians to procure the international passport.
He described Sagamu and indeed Remo as a home to all Nigerians as their various communities daily welcome Nigerians from all geographical divides of the Nigerian nation irrespective of religious persuasions and political affiliation.
According to the Chairman of Sagamu local government, Honourable Oluwafemi Felix Kafaru, the local government had provided the Immigration Service a number of potential office at different locations for the service to choose from, adding that once they made their choice, it would be immediately developed to meet their desired taste to enable them commence operation .
The Comptroller General of Immigration Inspection team were taken to three locations. One within Akarigbo palace, another after Sagamu Local Government Area, Aiyepe Road and the last one at Sagamu GRA Quarters.
After moving round, the team settled for the GRA location on the grounds of its serenity and expansive nature which they believed would enhance their service delivering and also help the well-being of the officers and men of the service.
The traditional Rulers in attendance were His Royal Highnesses, Oba Adewale Osiberu, Elepe of Epe; Oba Solagbade Osokowu, Alado of Ado; Oba Timothy Akinsanya, Ewusi of makun; Oba Moibi Ginsanrin, Odofin of Soyindo. Also in attendance were; Asiwaju of Remo and industrial Giant, Chief Kayode Onafowokan; Chairman of Sagamu North Local Government Development Area, Makun, Honourable Rafiu Awoyemi; Chairman, Sagamu South Local Development Area, Ogijo, Barrister Gbenga Hassan Chief of Staff to Akarigbo Abiodun Elias Aina.
They all, in unison expressed their gratitude to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration, Alhaji Mohammed Babandede for looking in the direction of Sagamu in choosing an office for operation of Immigration Service particularly for the procurement of international passport.
They promised the corporation and support of the people of their domains to the government as well as Nigeria Immigration service in the course of carrying out their services.
