Police Arrest Notorious Cultist in Agbara

Men of Ogun state police command have arrested a 19 – year – old notorious cultist who has been terrorising Agbara and it’s environs for quite some time.

According to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect, Daniel Bartholomew, has been on the wanted list of the command.

Oyeyemi said the suspected cultist had played role in series of cult clashes in places like Agbara, Lusada and igbesa area of Ado Odo Ota local government area of the State.

He said that the suspect was arrested opposite Crawford university by a team of policemen led by ASP Ajoba Lamidi when the team were carrying out stop and search duty in the area.

“The suspect, who was on a motorcycle quickly made a U_ turn when he sighted the policemen but was hotly chased and apprehended.

“Recovered from him are one locally made pistol and one expended cartridge . He has made a confessional statement to the fact that he is a leading member of the dreaded Eiye confraternity, ” he said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered that the suspect be transferred to FSARS for discreet investigation.
