Buhari’s Lieutenants are Nigeria’s Problems – – Cleric
The Founder and Custodian of a Islamic body, Sa’adatul Abadiyya Organization of Nigeria (SOAN), Caliph Sikirulai Balogun has said that members of President Mohammadu Buhari’s cabinet and advisers were responsible for the current economic hardship in the country.
Balogun lamented the level of sufferings in the country, declaring that only politicians were enjoying the current situation.
The Clergyman who revealed this on Sunday while speaking to journalists at the 20th Biennial National Delegate Conference and award presentation of SOAN in Abeokuta, said Nigerians were suffering and also living in penury.
He noted that majority of Nigerians found it difficult to eat three square meals a day due to the economic hardships facing the country.
Balogun slammed President Buhari led administration for lacking the economic direction to take the country out of current situation bedeviling it.
The Cleric urged the Federal government to listen to pulse of the people and fashioned out ways to ease the people of the sufferings, saying reflections of the public is very important for any government.
To him, any government that leaves its people in untold hardship deserves no pass mark, insisting that the socio -economic disparity between Nigerians and those in government is very alarming.
His words: “Only politicians are happy, common people are not happy in the country. I cannot give any pass mark to any government that makes the people wretched. Whatever you do in administration, the reflection on the public is the most important.
“People are suffering, let us be frank. It is difficult if not impossible for some people to enjoy three square meals a day. In such situation you cannot really say the government is good or bad, but let them continue to improve on what they are doing so that Nigerians can enjoy their wealth, ” he said.
He advised the government to learn how to address the source of their weakness, disclosing that “Buhari is good, but his lieutenants are his problem.”
Balogun commended the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led state government for the infrastructural development across Ogun State , saying he was the best, the state ever had .

“It is regrettable that the Nigerian Socio-Economic situation is still crawling, the problem of kidnapping and abduction is at increase, coupled with insurgence and herdsmen here and there. Even though the current National government is at best in tackling these menace, ” he said.
He appealed to the government to take “necessary steps to minimize the present high rate of unemployment as the solution stemmed from the non -provision of gainful employment to the almost half of the population, especially the youths”.
On the conference, he said it was to appraise the activities of the body, ways forward as well as honour some of their members.
Dignitaries at the conference included Alhaji Hakeem Agbaje, the National President of SOAN, Alhaji Abdul Rasheed Jayesimi, National Missioner of SOAN, Alhaji Abdul Lateef Ismail, Chief Imam of Gbagura, Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, among others.
